! ! ! ! ! WORLD CUP -- C'MON ENGLAND ! ! ! ! !
by nicolaou inokay, weve lost gerrard - that's the biggest blow in my book - but beckham seems almost up to speed.
do we have any chance of making it to the 2nd round?.
i think nigeria are more of a threat than sweden who we should beat.

I don't think England have a chance, it's highly doubtful they'll beat Sweden, as City Fan said, and Nigeria could force a draw too.

Kingdom Ministry Study Article
by Fatal Error induring our service meeting tonight, we discussed an article titled "balanced oversight", in which brosthers are encouraged to turn down theocratic privileges if it might detract from his family, and that responsibilities should be shared amongst the congregation.
the emphasis was on building a family unit strong in the truth, and delegating privileges when need be, thus, imho, shifting responsibility from the elders and ministerial servants onto the entire congregation... we got the usual biggin up of elders, they should be commended for what they do, and that due to the fact that they are volonteers, can't be held responsible for the odd error of judgement (or major cock-up?).
could this be a shift by the society to protect or even dilute its "clergy class", so as to limit liability?

Here is the plan
by the follower inok... here is the plan.
i moved to this congregation years ago, but when i came it was the same secretary then as it is now.
when i arrived he just said "here is my address, give it to the secretary in your old congregation and tell him to send me your records.
-

I'm sure there's still a copy of your records at some central location, so it wouldn't really make any difference on the Society level, and the elders could still request a new set to be sent out to them... I think...

Isn't there a set of laws that dictate you can have all records shown to you on request?
In the UK, the Data Protection Act would force the Society to hand overa copy of all files on you, albeit for an administrative fee. The same law says that you can also ask to have these files deleted, depending on what they are used for.
I'm not sure whether that would apply in this case, or whether the Society MUST have certain files if you wish to remain known as a JW...

WT 6/15 2002: Confidential Matters

a time to reveal a confidential matter.
keeping certain matters confidential can mean the difference between peace and contention.

I remember thinking the same when I read that... Seems like an early attempt at justification, if only to condition the average JW to dismiss any upcoming criticism. Sick, sick ,sick...
